California declares you wife and wife

Gay marriage california

Today, California Supreme Court overturned a previous ban of same sex marriage, joining Massachusetts in the list of states that support gay marriage. Finally another step towards equality! One by one we will get there. What happened today in California may have a huge impact in other states, especially in this election years. Let’s hope U.S. elects a pro-gay marriage president to the White House so we can completely distinguish the Church from the State. That is the biggest challenge. A civil right is a civil right and should never be denied. It’s against the constitution and against what this country is supposed to be for. Religion is what stops gay rights from moving forward. Let’s keep those two businesses completely apart please. And let’s give the right to each one of us to decide if we want to put our marriage on paper or not. It’s up to us, not to anyone else. And I want more.

Ps) On an ironic note, looks like Jodie Foster and Cydney Bernard, together for 10+ years and mothers of Charles and Kit, have split up. If that is true, the world is badly made.

The birth of a baby lesbian blog

It’s been 1 month now since I started this blog,  (yay!) but I am still wondering what direction to take. A little personality disorder, I must say.

I have to tell you, I have written a couple of personal post as well as funny ones and others more informative. Not quite sure about the personal ones and don’t really think it is fun to keep up with the news 24-7. So I asking my fellow readers, what kind of post you like the best:

  1. Personal is cool as long as you make a fool of yourself or has a really inspiring story to share.

PDK is Public Display of KISSING

It’s great to go to Pride Fest. You get to see, learn and meet so many cool and crazy people, its good times guaranteed.

PDK

One thing I got to find out at Pride that I absolutely loved (to the point that I kissed my boy friend) was the PDK campaign. The idea of this is to cover up the world thousands of gay kisses. You kiss, they take a picture and upload to an interactive world map that pinpoints all the locations where the kisses happened.

The rules are: the kiss has to be public and has to be on display. For every picture, PDK campaign donates $1 to charity. I even kissed a boy, due to the lack of appropriate resources. Sometimes you have to make do. Anything for charity, baby.

The Lesbian and The Dress

Yesterday I was a woman in a mission. The objective was to find a dress, a DRESS (!!) for an upscale black-tie wedding this Saturday in Donald’s Trump hotel. F*ck.

As trying out the dress inside Macy’s fitting room, a sudden feeling invaded my soul. The feeling, I can describe, was like I was betraying myself and insulting who I was. Amazing.

Shane and the dress

I’m a 29 years old lesbian and I was never a butch and, until yesterday, I was comfortable being a femme and giving the good news to all the guys that hit on me. It is always crazy fun seeing their faces after the “Dude, I’m gay” act I love to perform every now and them.

The police want some gay pride

Police Hiring Gay Pride

If one day a get a ticket, I can at least hope it is from a hot dyke female cop in uniform with a big Ray Ban glass. Can you imagine my answer to the infamous question?

What lesbians drink besides beer?

So lesbian do like to drink, duhh. But besides beer that usually fills the role of the lesbian alcohol fix of the week, what kind of hard liquor has been rocking our parties lately? When you think alcohol, what comes to you mind? (Besides drama and wrong hook-ups in the bathroom?)

This is how I see drinks. They have personality.

Shots are for though chicks with no time to waste
Ex: Tequila body shots anyone? Tequila rose is awesome to impress straight chicks, ‘cause it’s pink.

Future Sex Thomas Beatie

It is really interesting to see all the buzz around Thomas Beatie pregnancy especially after the Oprah’s Tv show appearance. It’s been everywhere, from shocking to sarcastic headlines followed by pictures of a man’s belly expecting a child.

Thomas Beatie pregnant

Thomas and wife admitted being initially cautious about spreading the news as they have faced opposition from family, friends and the medical profession.

Oh, I can see what can be so intriguing. What is really so intriguing (and amazing) is the love and happiness this couple share with the arrival of their first child. The tears of joy on Thomas face are there to prove it. People have issues with that?

All kinds of love should be always celebrated and not turned into a huge controversial judged-by-all topic. Specially on these days and ages.

Women in Tuxedo

So yesterday I received this invitation for a gala wedding next month. Very rich, successful, middle age people, getting married for the second time (they never learn anything) at Donald Trump’s hotel. Even though I couldn’t care less about those heterosexual privileges, this one triggered something I cannot yet define. So wrong, but so intriguing.

And then my mom called me: “Hello darling, did you get the invitation? We need to start looking for a dress.”

The last time I wore a dress I was probably 12. But I kept on listening: “It’s a black-tie wedding, honey.”
