Tux please and I insist!

Conversation with a friend that is getting married in September:

Me: Congratulations! Let me know if you will need help with anything for the ceremony. I can give you a hand. By the way, I will be finally wearing a tux for a wedding!

Friend: No, you are not!
Me: What?
Friend: You can not wear a tux cause you will be getting more attention than me! Do you want to compete with the bride?

Me: WTF is that?

Please someone take me out of boredom-straightness world again and invite me to a gay wedding in Canada.

It’s tux or die!

    Your friend seriously thinks that one woman in a tux is going to compete with the bride? What the? Unless everyone at the wedding has never seen a woman in a tux before then it is never going to happen.
