Remembering Lawrence King

On Feb 12th 2008, the 15 year old boy Lawrence King was murdered at his high school in California. Larry was a proud gay teen that had no problem expressing who he was. Friends say the reason his was murdered was his sexual orientation and gender expression.
This is when you see how much more need to be done until we can really feel safe.
The attacker (a 14 year old) was known to harass Lawrance because he sometimes wore make up and jewelry and was open about his sexual orientation. The attacker has been charged with murder and hate crime.
Several vigils will be happeing around the country in the next couple of weeks. Check http://www.rememberinglawrence.org/ to find one in your area. Let’s make sure Lawreance is not forgotten and keep our efforts to end any kind of violence or harassment directed to lesbians, gays and transgenders is schools. Its is unbelivable that it’s been 10 years that Mathew Shepard was shot in Wyoming for similar reasons.
This is the PSA Logo Network put together to raise awareness against hate crimes toward gays and specially to remember Larry.
